I googled guitar lessons and I found some videos of you guys instructing and I thought it was really really good, I also got really interested from reading on your homepage about how to actually practice and apply theory, then I decided to sign up for a free lesson and then I decided because it was just a really good lesson really.
Before starting lessons my guitar play was fucking awful… can I say that? *laughs*
I’ve learned how to play chords, pentatonic scales, licks and how to apply these in music, songs like Rock you like a hurricane, and now I’m learning Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana which feels really great.
I think the teacher is great, he can be a little bit mean sometimes and give me songs that are challenging to play for, but that keeps me motivated to practice because I really want to learn to play them, which makes me progress a lot faster. It’s been good so far, I’ve learned a lot.
I really like that it’s structred, I really like that I get a practice schedule that I can follow every week. So I know what to do between lessons. I think the problem is when you learn by yourself with no goal, then you get tierd and stop is that you start practicing a little bit, then you stop. And then you don’t know when to start. If you have a set practice schedule you know exactly what to do every day and you can even record yourself doing it and hear your progress on a day by day basis.
I really like that it’s online for me personally, and its very structured as I just said, If you want to learn it’s good to take lessons, and it’s incredibly good lessons

I’ve had a guitar for a little over 10 years, close to 12. I’ve been taking lessons for just over half a year. I chose to take guitar lessons because I like guitar, and I like music…. But I don’t have self-discipline, and I don’t really know where to start, how to continue, how to get better.
So this is the first time I’m really learning and not looking up little snippets on ultimate-guitar.com. Before I started here, my guitar was frankly a disaster. I only knew a few chords. You also get place to bounce questions off, you can’t talk to someone sitting on a YouTube channel, it’s cliché but that’s just the way it is.
