About The Swedish Guitar Method:
The Swedish Guitar Method was developed between 2008 and 2017 by taking an interest in students challengers and what they wanted to learn to play on the guitar.
Constantly listening to feedback from students. We base our experience on well over 15 years of teaching students in person and online.
By making a lot of mistakes, and trying different exercises and approaches to lessons we found a method that works for everyone.
You could say that we have the ”blueprint” to take anyone who wants to learn guitar – and if you put in the work you’ll become a great guitar player.
The Swedish Guitar Method runs a local school in the heart of Gothenburg ”Gitarrlektioner i Göteborg” between 2008 and 2015 we ran guitar lessons in Örby, Mark county. 2012 to 2022 we also ran local guitar lessons in Borås, Sweden.
We started teaching online and on video in 2013 within Sweden. Our mission is to help people to enjoy playing guitar, removing resistance and frustrations and by unmatched pedagogy in video on demand lessons make learning guitar enjoyable.
We also do personal coaching online internationally.
The video on demand lessons was created through testing over several years on what format and what students needed in a video lesson, the first training courses in English took well over 3.5 years of filming, testing and refining with students to complete.
Before that – there was a version in Swedish only.

The Swedish Guitar Method is a training system developed over 15 years of experience teaching over a 1823 people in person and video lessons.
All built on Marcus, the founder’s passion for guitar and music.
Obsessing over how he could get anyone to understand any concept, dissect the core skills of playing guitar well, and how to get the students results. The easy answer is Training, how to practice in a way that gives the students results.
The Swedish Guitar Method started 2008, Sweden by Marcus, 2012 the second local guitar school was opened in Borås, Sweden. 2014 lessons started to be taught online within Sweden.
2019 the 3rd school opened a school in Gothenburg, Sweden. Which at this moment has 122 students every week.
Over the last 15 years Marcus has taught over a 1823 people in person, and with his team of teachers and teaching online now days – countless more.
Marcus developed a system to take anyone from where they are right now to where they want to be.
This is what is called “The Swedish Guitar Method”
The Swedish Guitar Method’s teaching edge could be that since we’ve taught so many real people in person, and in video with so many different aspirations, hobby players, teachers that want to play and sing with their students at school, students that want to become professionals, record in studios, playing live, people that just want to play for their own enjoyment – we have met every type of guitar student there is, and we learned a lot by listening to our students and not just get them to play what “we want them to play” – but more focus on what they want and what they need.
We really do know what challenges aspiring guitar players have and we have made our best effort to assist this in the online lessons and in person lessons. We don’t do guess work, we have the experience.
We did not take any chances when filming / recording the video lessons, always having feedback from our current students since 2013 to optimize the videos, this is well over 800 students that gave feedback the last 10 years.
Between 2008 and 2019 Marcus has been in a touring band and when on tour he would provide video lessons for his students, by starting to do longer tours in 2013, this is how the digital video on demand was developed, by teaching guitar in person to real people and at the same time using videos for students to train to at home and revise what was taught during the lessons.
Too see what real people’s challenges are and always integrating it with video lessons and optimize the pedagogy in the video lessons.
Now the training system is available to you and anyone in the world – it’s a method based on getting detailed instructions, where nothing is missed or left to chance, isolation training and application training.
What this means is that everything that a student is being taught is also being trained so the student can use any concept in a real situation, if that is playing songs, riffs or improvising and jamming with friends it doesn’t matter.
The Swedish Guitar Method is trying to fill the gaps that have been missing in video on demand learning and teaching and learning guitar.
You can choose to only use the system provided with the courses, but you can also get help from a real teacher with the material in the lessons.
